Linking School Examines Deep Linking
From time to time, we like to remind you that LinksManager is not just for managing a specific type of link exchange such as traditional reciprocal linking.
We’ve designed LinksManager to take much of the frustrating and time-consuming complexity out of managing a link exchange campaign, without sacrificing any of the flexibility or versatility inherent in manual link management.
Take deep-linking, for example. Deep linking allows you and your link partners to seamlessly direct site visitors to content of particular interest to them without having to navigate through home pages, menus and search boxes. Will you ever consider altering the links manager interface to allow us to define our requested link name and description at a category level. For example I have a section for Baby & Toddler > Baby Gifts and Products. My theory is if I could add my linking information when setting up the section… when someone would ask to be added to that section the link submitted email could provide them the link and description for that area in my website. For example my current link is :

If the links manager customer did not want to have a different link they could leave the fields blank. At this point you would default to the sites linking information. This would be a very easy programming change for Links Manager and would help us in developing a diverse linking strategy.

Thanks for this great suggestion which we added to the LinksManager system.
To enable this new feature, go to your Manage Links >> Set Link Preferences.
You want to enable (about the 3rd option down):
Suggest different Reciprocal Link locations (deep linking)?
At that point, go to the category editor, and edit individual categories you’d like a deep-link to be suggested on when a user submits via your add-link page.
